Kati Wolf - Pop Music Singing Major, Background Singing

wolfkatiShe is one of the most recognized and successful Hungarian singers. He graduated from the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, majoring in solfège and music theory. He represented Hungary at the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest in Düsseldorf with What About My Dreams? with the song. In 2011, she was the female performer of the year, and in 2012 and 2022, she was a member of the A Dal jury. She has received many awards: Dortmund Radio Eurovision Special Award (2011), Gundel Art Award (2011), VIVA Comet - Best Female Artist (2011), Iván Szenes Art Award (2011), Transilvanian Music Awards - Best Hungarian Disco Hit of the Year (Szerelem, miért múlsz) (2012), in 2019, based on the compilation of MAHASZ, Szerelem, miért múlsz? became the song of the decade.

Fruzsina Erdős-Tóth - Pop Music Singing Major and Knowledge of Repertoire, Background Singing

As a child, folk music was the foundation of her music studies, and she played the piano for 8 years. During her high school years, she studied singing with Judit Kővári in Budapest. It was a defining part of her pop music career when she became the singer of the Abrakazbra Orchestra in 2010. She gained a lot of professional experience as a vocalist for numerous concerts and accompanying Hungarian stars (Charlie, Ferenc Demjén, Vera Tóth, Kati Kovács).

  • In 2010, she was invited to teach at Rocksuli in Debrecen, where she taught singing for 5 years.
  • In 2013, the city of Debrecen awarded her the Musician of the Year award.
  • In 2015, she graduated from the Reformed Theological University of Debrecen, Kölcsey Ferenc Teacher Training Institute, majoring in teaching, and singing.
  • In January 2018, she received a concert invitation to San Diego and Los Angeles for a Hungarian Culture Day.
  • Since 2019, she has been a vocal teacher at the Institute of Pop Music of the University of Debrecen.
  • In 2020, the city of Debrecen awarded her the Csokonai prize for her participation in cultural life and her achievements so far.
  • In the program "Dal 2022", her song "Azt beszélik" received the award for the Best Lyrics of the Year.
Balázs Bolyki - Pop Music Singing Major

Balázs Bolyki is a premiere award-winning gospel singer, songwriter, lyricist and founding member of the Bolyki Brothers.He studied piano for 5 years from 1979, and then started playing the clarinet at the age of 11. At the age of 12, he won the Budapest Woodwind Competition, and in the same year he won first prize in the national competition. Shortly afterwards, he was admitted to the Béla Bartók Conservatory of Music.

At the age of 20, he played the saxophone in front of 15,000 people at the Broadway musical Miss Saigon (at the Stadt Halle in Vienna). In the late 1990s, he and his brothers recorded vocal arrangements for the German music channel Viva. He has also worked as a composer and performer on several films (Csudafilm, Macskafogó 2, Kis Vuk 2, Egy szerelem gasztronómiája).

Meanwhile, he and his 3 brothers formed a family acappella group called the Bolyki Brothers in 1985. They have worked with Johnny Cash on Elvis Presley's album of his life's work, and with clarinetist Louis Armstrong, Joe Muranyi, Al Di Meola and the Holmes Brothers. Balázs has collaborated with, among others, 20 Grammy Award-winning Kirk Franklin and was a member of George Michael's opening band. For over 20 years he has been teaching courses for singers and choirs.

Building on his own methodology, he founded the Bolyki Soul & Gospel Singing School and the Bolyki Soul & Gospel Choir, as well as the Para-ra Choir for the disabled.

With his 4 sons, Balázs Bolyki and B4 perform at home and abroad.

Marcell Gudics – Pop Music Percussions Major, Rhythm Section

gudicsmarcelHe started playing drums at the age of 9. He began his studies at the Bicskei Prelúdium Elementary School of Art, then he was a student at the Gorsium High School and Vocational High School of Art, as well as the Hang-Szín-Tér School of Art, and finally graduated from the Jazz Drum Performing Arts Department of the János Kodolányi University. His teachers were: Péter Szendőfi, István Baló, Győző Mohai and Balázs Potesz. He is a permanent member of the Peet Project, The Biebers, and the Mike Gotthard Group. Among others, Mónika Veres Nika and Vera Tóth's band has included him in their concerts.

Martin Gudics - Pop Music Bass Guitar Major, Knowledge of Repertoire

wolfkatiMartin Gudics is one of the outstanding figures of young Hungarian bass players. He completed his musical studies at the Hangszíntér Vocational Secondary School and the Jazz Department of János Kodolányi University. He has already toured with several well-known performers. He is currently a member of Peet Project, Freddie, Viktor Király, Gudics Twins, Mike Gotthard Group, Vörös Janka x NEWSERIES, Bebe, and Zolbert bands. The band Peet Project, which is also known abroad, has been on the Billboard top list several times. He played with: Federico Malaman, Gergő Borlai, Dali Mraz, Dave Koz, Larry Graham, Chieli Minucci.

Bálint Gyémánt – Pop Music Guitar Major, Knowledge of Repertoire, Sound Editing

gyemant balintBálint Gyémánt is one of the most versatile guitarists on the Hungarian jazz scene. In 2007, he was the first Hungarian scholarship recipient of the Norwegian Academy of Music. He graduated from the Liszt Ferenc University of Music in 2008 and obtained his master's degree there in 2012. The public can meet him as a guitarist and songwriter in his duo with Veronika Harcsa, Gyémánt Bálint Trio. Since 2014, he has been a jazz guitar teacher at the Béla Bartók Conservatory.

János Kovács – Pop Music Trumpet Major, Knowledge of Repertoire, Wind Arranging, Knowledge of Instruments

kovács jános fotójaJános Kovács is a trumpet teacher and unit leader at the Zoltán Kodály Vocational High School of Music in Debrecen. He obtained his diploma at the Faculty of Music of the University of Debrecen. He has been playing music in the Debrecen Dixieland Jazz Band since 1990, where he is currently responsible for artistic management. Many revisions in the repertoire are associated with his name. He actively participates in the classical and popular music life of the city of Debrecen.

Gábor Linzenbold - Pop Music Saxophone Major, Knowledge of Repertoire, Knowledge of Instruments

Kapusi Kálmán fotójaHe obtained his diplomas as a saxophonist, saxophonist, and clarinetist - teacher at the Faculty of Music of the University of Debrecen. Parallel to classical music, he continuously trained himself in various pop music genres, such as jazz, funky, and pop. As a saxophonist in several light music bands, he played with such Hungarian stars as Charlie Horváth, Tamás Somló, Vera Tóth, Gábor Majsai, Ferenc Demjén. In addition to pop music bands, he regularly plays in funky, big-band, and Dixieland bands, as well as in theater performances.

Dániel Tóth - Pop Music Trombone Major, Knowledge of Repertoire, Knowledge of Instruments

Kapusi Kálmán fotójaHe obtained a diploma as a trombone teacher and chamber artist at the Faculty of Music of the University of Debrecen. In addition to his classical music activities, he is a regular contributor to the productions of various pop music performers (Zian, Geriskillz). He is a pillar member of the Debrecen Dixieland Band.

Marcell Tóth - Pop Music Keyboards Major, Orchestration, Music Theory

tóth marcelMarcell Tóth graduated from the Liszt Ferenc University of Music in 2012 with a degree in jazz-piano performance, and in 2014 with a master's degree in jazz-piano teaching. From 2012 to 2020, he was a teacher of jazz piano and orchestra practice at Etűd Zeneművészeti Szakközépskola. In the past decade, he has contributed to many leading domestic productions as a pianist, keyboardist, studio musician, and music producer. He has been seen at live music concerts, festivals, studio recordings, or even in theater plays. In 2019, as a keyboard teacher of the American Music 360 Method, he created an online tutorial with his method called Keys 360 Method.

Zoltán Galambos - Pop Music Keyboards Major, Music Theory, Band practice

Zoltán Galambos keyboardist, composer, music producer, music teacher. His musical talent was already evident in kindergarten, when he was accepted into the Children's Choir of the Hungarian Radio. During his school years he won national talent contests with his own compositions. He was accepted to the jazz piano course at the Béla Bartók Music School, where his teachers included János Gonda and Béla Szakcsi Lakatos. 

He graduated from the jazz faculty of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in 1994 with a degree in composition and orchestration. He started his professional career as a keyboard player in the band Känguru and later founded his own glam rock band JAM. Her music production career began in 1990, when, at the age of 23, she was asked by Warner Music's Hungarian office and Proton to produce the first album by Moralisa, the only Hungarian female rock band at the time. She has been involved as a music producer for several Hungarian bands - Manhattan, Hi-Hop Boyz, Cotton Club Singers, Shygys, Picasso Branch. 

He also worked as a keyboard player in Jamie Winchester & Róbert Hrutka's band. In 2003 he was awarded the "Golden Arrow" for his musical activities in the category "Keyboardist of the Year". 

Antal Varga – Band practice

varga antalHe is the leader and bassist of the band Abrakazbra. The band regularly accompanies Hungary's biggest stars, the number of these performers is now more than 80. He is also a composer and multi-gold and multi-platinum record holder.

Gergő Szamosközi - Compulsory Piano, Pop Music Keyboards Major, Knowledge of Repertoire, Sound Editing

szamoskozi gergoIn 2007, he obtained a piano teacher-chamber artist diploma, and in 2015 he obtained a master's degree and a certified piano teacher qualification at the Faculty of Music of the University of Debrecen. He is a piano teacher, private tutor, and deputy head of the institutional unit at the István Bocskai Elementary School of Arts in Derecske and the educational coordinator of the Institute of Pop Music of the University of Debrecen. He took part in numerous piano competitions and taught preparatory classes. He made multiple visits to Beijing as a lecturer and guest teacher to introduce Hungarian methods to music education. He has played keyboards in numerous pop music formations over the past eighteen years, sharing stages with top performers like Tamás Hevesi, Réka Koós, Péter Szendőfi, Ádám Nagy, Laci Gitano Nagy, Miklós Lengyelfi, and Feró Nagy.

Tamás Zádor - Knowledge of Guitar Instruments, Improvisation

zador tamas fotójaHe first studied music at the jazz department of the Ferenc Liszt University of Music. He later finished his studies at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, where he was certified as a jazz guitarist and also received a master's degree in teaching. He performed as a session musician in big bands, contemporary music productions, theater, and a variety of musically varied combo formations. In addition to live music venues, he has performed on stages at the Hungarian Jazz Festival, MÜPA and MR2 stages, the Sziget Festival, and other Hungarian pop music events. In addition, he has been a regular lecturer since 2011.

Mihály Gotthárd - Pop Music Guitar Major

wolfkatiMike Gotthard aka Mihály Gotthárd is a prominent figure of the Hungarian guitar generation, a HANOSZ Joy of Music Award winner and Tamás Barta Award winner performer. We have seen his name in many places, as a performer in jazz and fusion bands and as a session musician behind pop artists.

He learned the basics of blues and rock music in a self-taught way, and later developed further under the tutelage of his private teachers Baron Zoltán Zsoldos and Tamás Mohai. In 2011 he was accepted to the jazz guitar course at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, where his teachers were Gyula Babos, Sándor Horányi and Attila László.

His guitar playing blends the emotion of the blues, the improvisation of jazz, the energy of rock and the rhythms of funk. Besides his own formations, he is currently the guitarist of the godfater. band, which consists of Tibor Tátrai, Gergő Borlai, Dani Szebényi and Dani Usztics.

Zsolt Tóth - Knowledge of Percussion Repertoire, Knowledge of Instruments

Kapusi Kálmán fotójaHe studied under István Szabó at the University of Debrecen's Faculty of Music, where he received his certification as a percussion teacher. He was a part of the student formed Talamba Percussion Ensemble at the time. He became a member of Abrakazbra in 2003 and performed with Charlie, Tamás Somló, Rózsi Demjén, Vera Tóth, László Komár, and Kati Kovács among others on numerous occasions. Later on, he performed with Acoustic Gallery and Kerozin. He has been a pillar member of the PG Group since 2013, touring as a guest artist in numerous European cities. He performed with the duo project fruzsikaS in San Diego and Los Angeles in 2018 in honor of Hungarian Culture Day. He was a teacher for ten years at Debrecen's Zoltán Kodály Vocational School of Music and for fourteen years at the Rocksuli.

Pálma Kissné dr. Mogyorósi - Short History of Classical Music

Kapusi Kálmán fotójaShe graduated from the Ferenc Liszt Conservatory of Music in Debrecen with a certificate in music theory, singing, and teaching high school. She also worked as the department head in the solfège-music theory department. Following that, she earned a degree in church music in 1998. In 16–17, she finished her dissertation at the Academy of Music's Doctoral School. Titled "Great Week's Material of 19th-century Protestant Graduals and Liturgical Hymnals," she wrote and successfully defended it. Beginning in the academic year 2008/2009, she worked as an assistant professor at the Music Institute of Nyíregyház University, where she taught classes in solfège-music theory, conducting practice, complex music knowledge, general music, and Hungarian music history. In March 2017, she was promoted to associate professor. She currently teaches music history at the University of Debrecen's Faculty of Music.

Éva Jéger – Solfézs

Jéger Éva fotójaShe graduated from the Liszt Ferenc Conservatory of Music in Debrecen in music theory, primary school singing teacher and faculty leader. From 2001, she studied baroque vocal technique and performance in the early music courses of Emma Kirkby, Éva Bodrogi, and Nicholas Clapton. Between 2005 and 2007, she was a member of the Debrecen Kodály Choir. In the summer of 2018 and 2019, she holds solfège classes and methodology courses as a guest lecturer in Beijing. Since 1995, she has been a teacher at the Derecske Elementary School of Arts, and since September 2023 she has been an instructor at the Institute of Classical Music at the University of Debrecen.

Béla Szilárd Dr. Jávorszky - The History of Entertainment Music

Kapusi Kálmán fotójaCertified economist, university doctorate in sociology of music. He is the professional manager of the library of the House of Hungarian Music. In the past thirty years, he has published in the columns of the Hungarian edition of Magyar Narancs, Kritika, and Playboy, as well as in several music magazines (Muzsika, Wanted, Z Magazin, Rockinform, Fidelio). Author of 17 professional books, approx. He gave 100 performances as a rock music specialist.

Péter Dr. Csató - Cultural History

Kapusi Kálmán fotójaHe has been employed at the University of Debrecen's Anglo-American Institute's North American Department since 2000. There, he primarily teaches courses in cultural studies and contemporary American literature. His areas of interest are philosophy of science, theories of interpretation, and neo-pragmatist American philosophy. He conducts interdisciplinary courses on the history of ideas and teaches thematic seminars on a variety of subjects, including the relationship between culture and interpretation and literary and cinematic representations of philosophical issues.

Péter Dr. habil. Zombola - Applied Music Composition

zombola péter fotójaHe was a student in the composition department of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, studying under György Orbán and Zoltán Jeney. He graduated with honors in 2006 as a composer, and he also earned an honors degree as a music theory teacher the following year. He attended the Doctoral School at the Academy of Music from 2006 to 2009 in order to pursue his PhD, which he did in 2010. In 2018, he also received his habilitation here. Many of his works have been presented at the most prestigious Hungarian and international festivals, he is a regular participant in contemporary music and contemporary art courses, he writes soundtracks for Hungarian and foreign films, he also composes theater music, advertising music and other applied music, and is an active member of professional organizations. He was a student in the composition department of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, studying under György Orbán and Zoltán Jeney. He graduated with honors in 2006 as a composer, and he also earned an honors degree as a music theory teacher the following year. Noémi Illésné Beke - English Language

András István Dr. Süli - Management Fundamentals

suli andras istvan fotójaDoctor of Law (University of Debrecen, 2002), certified sociologist (Eötvös Loránd University, 2007), further training in festival organization (Budapest Metropolitan University, 2012). He is a program director of the Debrecen Campus Nonprofit Közhasznú Kft. He has 25 years of experience organizing pop music concerts (Campus Festival, Nagyerdei Water Tower, etc.). Founder and creator of voluntary music initiatives (Sofar Sounds Debrecen, Pusztahang). Since 2015, he has also performed mentoring, judging, and expert duties in the Hangfoggaló Könnyűzene Támogató Program.

Artúr Vranyecz - Stage Presence

Since the year of his graduation, he has been a part of the Debrecen Csokonai Theater. He taught speech and acting at Ady High School in Debrecen from 2002 to 2019. Founder of the Minimum Party Collective Art Camp's improvisational theatrical workshop. It regularly puts on literary collections, gala presentations, chamber operas, and puppet theater productions. Every year since 2017, the I.T. acting classes in Sligo, Ireland, have conducted an acting workshop. He began working as a lecturer at the University of Debrecen's Faculty of Music in 2018 and as a master instructor in 2020. Acting, stage speaking, and acting were taught subjects. Professional honors include the Thália Tie Award (2016), Foto Art Award (2004), "Best Supporting Actor of the Year" (2000), Géza Kardoss Award (2001), Nívó Award (2003, 2015), and multiple "Artist of the Season" titles.

Lajos Dr. Horváth - History of Philosophy

horvath lajos fotójaHe earned a doctorate in philosophy in 2011 after becoming licensed as a philosophy instructor in 2005. He works as an assistant professor at the University of Debrecen's Institute of Philosophy. Topics covered include reading texts in other languages, philosophy of mind, modern philosophy I, anglo-Saxon philosophy II, philosophy of science/philosophy of language, and philosophy seminar V.

Lilla Tóth - Folk Music/Folk Music Arrangements

toth lilla fotójaIn 2009, she graduated from the Nyíregyháza University with a double major in singing and folk music teacher. After that, she obtained a master teacher's certificate at Nyíregyháza, majoring in vocal music, teacher of inclusive education, and then majoring in folk singing at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music. She is currently a PhD student at the Doctoral School of History and Ethnography of the University of Debrecen. From 2001 to 2007, she was a member of the Boróka Choir. Since 2005, she has been the singer and leader of the Törköly band. She has performed on stage with several ensembles (Kodály Choir, Tamás Kunos and his friends, Parapács orchestra, Fonó orchestra, Ismerős Arcok, etc.) as a soloist and contributor. Apart from her roles as an educator and artist, she also participates in folk music collection trips across the Hungarian-speaking region. She received the Young Master of Folk Art award in 2018.

Marcell Horváth – Compulsory Piano

wolfkatiHe received his diploma in piano performance from the University of Debrecen's Faculty of Music in 2019. As a soloist and chamber group member, he has played at both domestic and foreign concerts. He has performed throughout Europe, most notably at the National Theater in Prague as a soloist with the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. He began his studies in pop music with jazz pianist Dezső Oláh. At the moment, he tutors and teaches piano at the International School of Debrecen, AMI (Egyek, Debrecen), Kindergarten, Primary School, and Szent János Catholic Kindergarten. As a prep teacher, he has competed successfully in numerous national and international tournaments. As a pop and classical soloist as well as a prominent chamber music ensemble performer.
