Two UD students, who are the recipients of Excellence PhD Scholarship from the foundation Count István Tisza Foundation for the University of Debrecen, have participated in an international course held at the University of Reykjavík in Iceland, focusing primarily on the skills essential for innovation-based entrepreneurship. These doctoral students then reported on their personal professional experiences to their peers, who are also exemplary students of the University of Debrecen.

An internationally recognized and successful saxophonist from France, Nicolas Arsenijevic, was the guest lecturer at the 16th Debrecen SaxFest. This world-famous performer held master classes for students from the Faculty of Music (ZK) at the University of Debrecen and from other educational institutions, while he also gave a highly successful concert in the venue called Liszt Hall with a saxophone orchestra consisting of ZK students and teachers within the Universitas-Debrecen concert series.

The University of Debrecen continues to maintain its leading position among Hungarian institutions of higher education in the QS sustainability rankings. It was ranked 322nd in the Sustainability 2026 world rankings published on Tuesday by the British ranking agency Quacquarelli Symonds, which makes it the best Hungarian institution. The Confucius Institute of the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Debrecen (UDFH) and the Deutsches Kulturforum Ott-Home International Meeting Point organized a Chinese language course for residents of Debrecen for the first time. The most recent scientific findings in the field of sexual psychology have been discussed recently by experts at an international conference in Debrecen. This International Conference on Sexual Well-Being was organized by the joint research group (called Intercultural Sexualpsychology Research Group) formed by the Institute of Psychology of the Faculty of Humanities (BTK) at the University of Debrecen (DE) and the University of Malaga, Spain, on Wednesday, October 15, at the Headquarters of the Debrecen Academic Committee of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
